Acer C810-T78Y Chromebook Compact 13.3″ Daily Laptop Specs Review

Chromebooks have gained a lot of popularity lately, even between the most avid Windows users. The operating system, Chrome OS, is perfect for anybody who does a lot of work online and is relying on Google’s suite of services. Thanks to its compact design, the Acer C810-T78Y Chromebook is a great choice if you’re always on the go and need an easy to carry laptop to deal with all your daily tasks.

At the core, it has an NVIDIA Tegra K1 mobile processor, great for multitasking, smooth Web browsing and enjoying HD videos. It runs at 2.1 GHz and its cores acr independently only when needed. The CPU is aided by 4 GB of RAM, so you can easily run multiple apps at once.

In terms of graphics, it’s using an NVIDIA-made GPU, while the storage capacity might be the biggest disadvantage, as the Acer C810-T78Y Chromebook has just 32 GB of flash memory. Still, you can expand this, using a microSD card slot or use the built-in Cloud support. You can get a lot of free Google Drive space, with the purchase of this laptop or use other cloud services, so in the end, storage shouldn’t be a problem anymore.

Besides the microSD card slot, it also comes with two USB 3.0 ports, great for those who prefer flash memory over cloud or cards. It doesn’t have a built-in optical drive, so you’ll have to stick to other file transfer methods.

The connectivity suite consists in basic IEE 802.11ac wireless LAN module, for quick Web access, and a Bluetooth 4.0 interface, perfect for syncing the Chromebook with other laptops, tablets or smartphones. The HDMI port allows you to connect it to bigger display or even opt for a dual-screen setup.

Moving on to the display, the Acer C810-T78Y Chromebook is using a 13.3″ LED-backlit Active Matrix TFT-LCD display, with a 1366 x 768 HD resolution. It’s nothing special, but considering the compact size of the display, the pixel density is higher than on a regular 15.6″ laptop, resulting a better image quality. Finally, the ComfyView technology makes sure you enjoy crisp and clear colors.

Above, it features a built-in webcam, perfect for chatting with your friends and family over Google’s video chatting app, Hangouts. The 4-cell Lithium Ion battery has a capacity of 3270 mAh.

Like mentioned above, the Acer C810-T78Y Chromebook is a very compact device. It measures just 0.71″ in thickness and weighs just 3.31 lbs., so it’s perfect for carrying it around in your luggage, backpack or briefcase.
