At a first look, the Asus ZenFone Selfie doesn’t seem very different from the ZenFone 2, launched earlier this year, receiving a lot of positive feedback. This 5.5″ handset features a metallic bezel, a curved plastic back, with a brushed aluminum look (more options are available), housing the volume buttons setup, similar to the one seen on LG’s G4.

The front of the phone reveals relatively small bezels, but the main element that catches the eye is the big front-facing camera, about which we’ll talk in a few moments.

The 5.5″ display has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it’s protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. It’s also using the IPS technology, so you can enjoy multiple viewing angles, a feature that’s widely appreciated.

Under the hood, the Asus ZenFone Selfie is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, with an octa-core configuration To be more specific, it has four Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at 1.5 GHz, and four more Cortex-A53 ones, clocked at 1.0 GHz, for less demanding tasks.

The CPU is aided by an Adreno 405 GPU and 3 GB of RAM, while the internal storage capacity counts just 16 GB. Still, the latter shouldn’t be an issue, since the phone also features a microSD card slot, so you can expand it with up to 128 more gigs.

Moving on to the most interesting part of the phone, the camera department, we should mention that the Asus ZenFone Selfie is basically using the same sensors on both rear and front. We’re talking about a pair of 13 MP snappers, accompanied by a dual-tone flash, in order to obtain more natural-looking photos.

The rear camera also features an f/2.0 aperture, alongside laser autofocus, while the front-facing one has f/2.2, in order to let more light in. Basically, these are the fastest lenses a phone can have.

Moving on, the phone is using a 3000 mAh Lithium-ion Polymer battery, with a capacity of 3000 mAh. It’s more than enough for a 5.5″ phone and it will keep the phone powered for a full day of intensive use with no issues at all.

Finally, the operating system is Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop, customized with the manufacturer’s user interface.

The Asus ZenFone Selfie is available in White, Blue and Pink, with a price tag of just $245.99. To sum up, there’s no doubt that this phone is one of the best deals of the moment, considering the way it looks and, of course, its features.
