HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 Stylish 11.6″ Convertible Laptop Specs Review

Convertible laptops are not something very unusual nowadays, as a lot of models come with a special hinge system, allowing you to flip the display at 360 degrees and use it as a tablet. Still, there are some specific models, like the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3, which take the convertible model to a whole new level. Besides this, it also features a more than decent spec sheet, so it’s definitely worth checking it out.

The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U processor, running at 2.3 GHz. Still, like most Intel chips, it also features the Turbo Boost technology, allowing you to increase the clock speed to a maximum of 2.9 GHz. The CPU is aided by 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, perfect for those who are multitasking fans, while the graphics department is represented by an Intel HD 5500 integrated chip, with shared video memory.

Finally, in terms of storage capacity, the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 comes with a 256 GB solid state drive. It’s true, it doesn’t offer a lot of space for all your stuff, but nowadays, there are a lot of cloud storage services, like Google Drive or Dropbox, offering you hundreds of gigabytes. On the other side, the main advantage is that a SSD has no moving parts, offering faster start-up and loading times.

The laptop comes with two USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack and of course, a mini display port. It also features a media reader, supporting microSD cards, which you can use it for quick photo transfers from a camera or a smartphone.

When it comes to connectivity, the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 offers you a Bluetooth 4.0 interface, so you can sync it with compatible devices, and NFC (Near Field Communication). Also, it has 802.11 ac wireless, for quick Web access.

We should also mention that it has a pair of stereo HD Audio speakers, using the DTS Studio Sound technology, able to deliver a relatively good audio experience.

As for the display, we’re looking at a 11.6″ LED-backlit panel, with a standard HD ready resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Still, it’s a smaller display, so the pixel density is bigger than on a regular 15.6″ laptop.

Above the display, we can notice an HD webcam, with an integrated microphone, perfect for keeping in touch with your friends and family.

Like mentioned above, it’s the design that makes the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 special. Built from magnesium and with a silver finish, it has a very elegant look. Also, the hinge system is different tha most models, as besides flipping the display, you can also spin it. It measures 0.87″ in thickness and weighs just 3.08 pounds, so we can call it a compact model, very easy to carry a round.

The laptop is available for $1589.00 , with a pre-installed copy of Windows 8.1 64-bit. It might be a bit too much, considering the specs. Still, if you want a practical device, able to deal with your daily tasks with ease, you should definitely consider this one.
