Lenovo IdeaPad 100s Cheap 11.6″ Daily Laptop Specs Review

Lenovo has a wide variety of laptops in its portfolio, starting with entry-level models and ending with top notch models, able to run the most demanding apps and games. Today, we’re focusing on a cheap model, perfect for those who are looking for a compact device, but a tablet is not enough for their needs.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100s has enough processing power to deal with basic tasks, like browsing the web, checking email and consuming media. It also comes with the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows 10, so you can enjoy its latest features.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100s laptop review

It’s powered by an Intel Atom Z3735F processor, with four cores, running at 1.33 GHz, alongside 2 GB of DDR3L RAM. This entry-level configuration is great for beginners, as it provides just enough power. It also has an Intel HD Graphics card, with shared video memory, great for everyday use.

In terms of storage, it has 32 GB of eMMC flash memory which for the majority of users might be a bit too low, but the ultracompact memory system delivers quick boot-up times and also supports HD video playback.

Still, if you need more space, you can opt for cloud storage or connect an external HDD, through Lenovo IdeaPad 100s’ two USB 2.0 ports. The laptop also has a built-in card reader, supporting microSD formats, perfect for quick photo transfers or even expanding the storage capacity.

The connectivity department is represented by an HDMI output, so you can expand your viewing options, alongside built-in high-speed wireless LAN, so you can quickly connect to the Web.

Moving on to the display, the Lenovo IdeaPad 100s is using a 11.6″ LED-backlit panel, with a typical 1366 x 768 HD ready resolution. Still, it has a bigger pixel density, compared to a regular 15.6″ laptop, so the image quality will by crispy enough so you can enjoy movies and videos in more than decent conditions.

Above, it has a built-in webcam, with a dual-array microphone, so you can chat with your friends or family, over specific apps, like Skype of Google Hangouts.

Finally, one feature that we really like is the integrated voice assistant capability. Thanks to the special software, you can type or control the laptop through voice commands.

Design-wise, the laptop has a very nice white finish and it’s very slim – measuring 0.69″ in thickness – and light – weighing 2.2 lbs.

Like mentioned above, the Lenovo IdeaPad 100s is a cheap model, being available for just $189.99. Besides the pre-installed operating system, Windows 10, it also comes with a basic software package, including a trial of Microsoft Office.
