Lenovo Yoga 900 80MK002CUS Stylish 13.2″ 2 in 1 Laptop Specs Review

Lenovo is constantly improving its Yoga line-up of convertible laptops and the Yoga 900 80MK002CUS, one of the latest models, proves that they’re becoming very good at this.

It’s a compact laptop, with a 2 in 1 design, great for both work and entertainment, thanks to the 360 hinge, allowing you to use it in various modes.

It’s powered by a 6th Gen Intel Core i7-6500U mobile processor, running at 2.5 GHz. Thanks to the Intel Turbo Boost technology, you can boost it up to 3.0 GHz, for a little extra processing power, whenever needed.

The CPU is aided by 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, so you can easily run demanding apps or even some casual games. It also has an Intel HD Graphics on-processor video card, with shared memory, providing everyday image quality for basic tasks, like browsing the Web or photo editing.

In terms of storage, the Lenovo Yoga 900 80MK002CUS is loaded with a 256 GB solid state drive, with no moving parts, hence faster start-up times and data access. If you feel like you need more space, you can always opt for cloud storage or use an external HDD, that can be connected to the laptop using one of the three USB ports (1 x 3.1, 1 x 3.0 and 1 x 2.0).

It also features a built-in media reader, supporting card formats like SD, SDHC, SDXC and MMC, for simple photo transfer. It doesn’t include a built-in DVD/CD drive.

As for the connectivity department, it has a Type C-to-HDMI adapter, so you can connect it to a bigger display, and next-gen Wireless, while the Bluetooth 4.0 interface is missing.

The Lenovo Yoga 900 80MK002CUS is using a 13.3″ 1o-point capacitive LED-backlit LCD multitouch display, with a QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. Besides the crisp and clear images it’s able to deliver, it also features the IPS (in-plane switching) technology, for wide viewing angles.

Despite having s small display, it can be great for watching movies, since it also comes with the Dolby DAX2 audio technology and JBL certification, for a clear sound.

Finally, above the display we can spot a 720p HD webcam, with two array microphones, making it a very nice choice for video chatting.

Design, wise, the laptop measures just 0.59″ in thickness and weighs 2.84 lbs. The silver finish, combined with the black of the keyboard and the bezel are creating a very elegant and stylish look, no matter in what mode you’re using the device. Also, the backlit keyboard allows you to use it in dark environments.

The Lenovo Yoga 900 80MK002CUS is available for $1199.99, with a pre-installed copy of Microsoft’s Windows 10 and a basic software package, including a trial of Microsoft Office 2013.
