With their new line of Yoga tablets, the folks over Lenovo introduced a totally new form factor, never seen on similar devices before. Thanks to the built-in kickstand, the models from this family, including the Lenovo Yoga Tab 2, are offering various viewing modes, making them great choices for big media consumers and not only.
The 8″ tablet is powered by a quad-core Intel Arom Z3475 processor, alongside 2 GB of LPDD3R RAM, so you won’t encounter with any issues while using even some of the most demanding apps. The storage capacity counts 16 GB, which is enough for most users. Still, you can expand it with up to 64 GB, using a microSD card or, of course, opting for cloud storage.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 features a micro USB port which can be used for connecting it to your PC or charging, while the Bluetooth 4.0 interface allows you to sync it with compatible devices, like laptops or smartphones.
In terms of display, it uses an 8″ touchscreen, like mentioned above, with an HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Also, thanks to the IPS technology, you will be able to enjoy simple navigation and clear images, with rich details.
After a quick look at the Lenovo Yoga Tab 2, we can notice the front-facing camera. It has a 1.6 MP sensor, perfect for keeping in touch with your friends, video calls or, why not, a few quick selfies. Also, under the display, two speakers are mounted, in order to enjoy movies or YouTube clips with a great sound quality. On the back, there’s another camera, but with a better, 8 MP sensor.
The 2-cell lithium-ion battery has an impressive capacity of 6400 mAh, which keeps the tablet powered for a full day of intensive use.
Finally, the operating system of choice is Android 4.4 KitKat, while an update to 5.0 Lollipop is scheduled for the upcoming months. It’s customized with Lenovo‘s UI, which, despite the fact that it comes with a suite of pre-installed apps, like Kingsoft, Evernote or UC Browser, it runs very fluid and allows you to enjoy the Android experience.
Moving on to the design of the Lenovo Yoga Tab 2, we’re looking at a device with a full aluminum body. It’s well built, solid and a great selling point. The kickstand allows you to use it in normal mode, stand mode – perfect for movies – or even hang it on a wall, in order to use it for presentations.
