  1. Hi. I have owned the Toshiba Satellite c55 b5100 for about 1 year (since April 2016). It’s a really good laptop for the $199 (Best Buy). Does everything I need it to and with Win 8.1, 4gb mem, etc… this is actually very fast. It boots up to the main screen in approx 15 seconds.

Only issue I had was with the cheap plastics — specifically the battery screw hole tab (2). Battery works fine, it’s that one of the two screw ‘holes’, the ‘tab’ broke off. Result is that if you find the computer won’t boot up, just gently push the battery pack toward the front. Mine came loose once so I removed the screws and battery for 10 seconds, reinstalled and when trying to put the screw in, the plastic tab broke. The plastics ARE low grade but if you’re not tossing the computer onto tables but instead setting it down gently, all will be fine. I rate the over-all laptop a solid 9 of 10.
